In 1397 h, 1978 A.D., the Religious authority Sayyed H.E. Muhammad
Hussein Fadlullah inaugurated the first lighthouse of the Mabarrat
Association. And the Imam Khouie Orphanage came to be, much like
a boat that children hung on for rescue and they were got carried
from the sea of suffering and darkness of the Lebanese war to
the land of safety.
This was but the first tree in a blessed garden, many philanthropists
joined hands, and acting under the guidance of H.E. Sayyed Fadlullah,
watered it, and planted many other trees that filled the hearts
of thousands of orphans, as well as dislocated and needy children
with hope in a new life.
Based on its belief that "all humans are God's children,"
and that "the ones who love most are the ones who serve those
children," and realizing that the most needy of this help
are the deprived children and the orphans, the Mabarrat Association
multiplied its efforts, hoping not only to give shelter for the
largest number of orphans but to provide them with the best services
as well.
Consequently, and with the generous donations of benevolent philanthropists,
and acting upon the instructions of H. E. Sayyed Muhammad Hussein
Fadlullah, (may he long live) the Association's institutions grew
in number to encompass all Lebanese regions. The care it provides
also has developed. What began as a purely social care has turned
into a comprehensive one that includes education, cultural upbringing,
medical care, proper nourishment that builds healthy bodies …
etc. so that it could achieve its goal of providing the orphans
with physical, psychological and social welfare, and develop all
their potentials and capabilities that they will in turn make
use of to enrich and enhance their society.
Thus, providing care for orphans was the first task that the
Mabarrat Association assumed, but it then went on to include,
in addition to those deprived of their parents, those who are
deprived of seeing or hearing. It built Al- Hadi institute which
comprises Al-Nour (Light) School for the blind and Al-Raja' (Hope)
School for the deaf, to give henceforth those who were deprived
of education an opportunity to learn and develop their potentials,
boosting their confidence in themselves and in their believing
community and enabling them to become active members in the society.
Moreover, as a result of the damage inflicted by the Lebanese
war on the level of education in the country, and that even left
the fate of thousands of them uncertain, the Association, guided
by the instructions of Sayyed Fadlullah (may he long live), has
built several modern and model academic schools, as well as vocational
institutes for both boys and girls, to provide the coming generations
with a high level of education and a profound sense of values.
In addition, And to further the role of thought and awareness,
the Association has built several worshipping and cultural centers,
as well as health centers that provide medical care in times of
economic hardships.
These centers and institutions, as well as those under construction
and those that are still in the stage of planning, will all grow,
develop and continue to serve all those in need. In this respect,
the association hopes that the benevolent donors will continue
to help this institution serve the community, man and life.
{And God says: " Initiate for Work
(righteousness): Soon will Allah observe your work, and His Messenger,
and the Believers}.
